You do great things, and unsearchable, marvelous things without number. You give rain on the earth, and send waters on the fields. You set on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety. You frustrate the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot carry out their plans. You catch the wise in their own craftiness, and the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them. They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope at noontime as in the night. But You save the needy from the sword, from the mouth of the mighty, and from their hand. So, the poor have hope, and injustice shuts her mouth (Job 5:9-16).
“Truly I know it is so, but how can a man be righteous before You? If one wished to contend with You, they could not answer You one time out of a thousand. You are wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against You and prospered? You remove the mountains, and they do not know when You overturn them in Your anger. You shake the earth out of its place, and its pillars tremble. You command the sun, and it does not rise. You seal off the stars. You alone spread out the heavens, and tread on the waves of the sea. You made the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the chambers of the south. You do great things past finding out, yes, wonders without number. If You go by us, we do not see You. If You move past, we do not perceive You. If You take away, who can hinder You? Who can say to You, ‘What are You doing?’ (Job 9:2-12)
Can anyone search out the deep things of God? Can anyone find out Your limits, Almighty God? They are higher than heaven, deeper than Sheol. Their measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea. If You, oh Lord pass by, imprison, and gather to judgment, then who can hinder You? (Job 11:7-10)
We ask the beasts, and they will teach us. And the birds of the air, and they will tell us. We speak to the earth, and it will teach us. And the fish of the sea will explain to us. Who among all these does not know that Your Hand oh LORD has done this, in whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind? With You are wisdom and strength. You have counsel and understanding. If You break a thing down, it cannot be rebuilt. If You imprison a man, there can be no release. If You withhold the waters, they dry up. If You send them out, they overwhelm the earth. With You are strength and prudence. The deceived and the deceiver are Yours. You lead counselors away plundered, and makes fools of the judges. You loosen the bonds of kings, and bind their waists with a belt. You lead princes away plundered, and overthrow the mighty. You deprive the trusted ones of speech, and take away the discernment of the elders. You pour contempt on princes, and disarm the mighty. You uncover deep things out of darkness, and bring the shadow of death to light. You make nations great, and destroy them. You enlarge nations, and guide them. You take away the understanding of the chiefs of the people of the earth, and make them wander in a pathless wilderness. They grope in the dark without light, and You make them stagger like drunken men. (Job 12:7-25)
You drew a circular horizon on the face of the waters, at the boundary of light and darkness. The pillars of heaven tremble, and are astonished at Your rebuke. You stir up the sea with Your power, and by Your understanding You break up the storm. By Your Spirit You adorn the heavens. Your Hand pierced the fleeing serpent. Indeed these are the mere edges of Your ways, and how small a whisper we hear of You! But the thunder of Your power who can understand? (Job 26: 9-14)
You can do everything, and no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. (Job 42:1)
