Start Here: Forgive Our Sin
Then Here: Unforgiveness
Receive Holy Spirit Guidance
Let Your Holy Spirit help us to pray because Your Word says that we do not know how to pray as we ought but that the Holy Spirit helps in our weaknesses and makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26)
Let the Holy Spirit make intercession through and for us according to the will of God (Romans 8:27)
Let the Holy Spirit guide us into all the truth and declare to us the things that are to come (John 16:13)
Let the Holy Spirit baptize us fully as with the apostles, let tongues of Holy Spirit fire rest upon each of us and let us receive Your Holy Spirit power so that we are led by the Holy Spirit in everything pertaining to this life (Acts 1:5-8 & Acts 2:1-4)
Adapted from Ephesians 6:13.
We put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, we will be able to stand our ground.
We stand firm then:
With the belt of truth buckled around our waists
May we know the truth and may the truth set us free (John 8:32)
Let the Spirit of truth come, guide us into all the truth, and declare to us the things that are to come (John 16:13)
Sanctify us in the truth for Your word is truth (John 17:17)
We stand firm then:
With the breastplate of righteousness in place
May we observe justice and do righteousness at all times (Psalm 106:3)
May our righteousness exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, so that we will enter the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 5:20)
Help us flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22)
Help us to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33)
We stand firm then:
With our feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace
Let us not ashamed of the gospel (Romans 1:16)
May we go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, teaching them to observe all things that You have commanded us (Matthew 28:19)
Let our feet be as beautiful on the mountains as of those who bring good news (Isaiah 52:7)
We take up:
The shield of faith, with which we can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one
Help us to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)
May our faith rest in the power of God and not in the wisdom of men (1 Corinthians 2:5)
As the apostles prayed, we pray: "Increase our faith" (Luke 17:5) [Link to Prayer For Faith]
We take up:
The helmet of salvation
Help us to set our minds on the things of the Spirit, on life and peace (Romans 8:5-6)
Help us to set our minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth (Colossians 3:2)
May You keep us in perfect peace, keep our minds stayed on You, help us trust in You (Isaiah 26:3)
Help us to have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16)
We take up:
The sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God
May Your Word be to us living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of our hearts (Hebrews 4:12)
Let Your Word be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105)
Let Your Word that has gone out from Your mouth not return to You empty, let it accomplish that which You purpose, and succeed in the thing for which You sent it (Isaiah 55:11)
Let Your kingdom come according to Matthew 6:10. Let the Kingdom of God come upon us as in Matthew 12:28, so that we will drive out demons by the Spirit of God. You promised in Mark 16:17 that these signs would accompany those who believed, that in Your Name they would drive out demons. So we stand on that promise and exercise the power You gave us and the promise You made us to drive out demons. Lord Jesus, we take hold of Your command in Matthew 10:8, to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead and cast out demons!
