Matthew 5
Help us to be poor in spirit, to be meek, to hunger and thirst for righteousness.
Help us to be merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers, and to endure persecution for righteousness’ sake.
Help us to be the salt of the earth, and the light of the world.
Let our lights shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.
May our righteousness exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees.
May we not be angry with others without a cause.
May we be reconciled to our brethren and agree with our adversaries quickly.
May we never look upon anyone to lust.
Whatever causes us to sin, may we pluck it out and cast it from us.
May we not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
May our ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and our ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
May we not to resist evil persons but turn the other cheek.
May we give to those who ask us, and from those who want to borrow from us, may we not turn away.
Help us to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who spitefully use us and persecute us, that we may be sons of our Father in heaven. For You oh Lord, make Your sun rise on the evil and on the good, and send rain on the just and on the unjust. May we be perfect, just as our Father in heaven is perfect.
Matthew 6
May we not do our charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them.
Thank You that You know the things we have need of before we ask You.
May we not lay up for ourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for ourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
May our eye be good, so that our whole body will be full of light.
May we not serve You and mammon, but You alone.
May we not worry about our lives. Thank You that You know all we need and help us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to us. Help us not to worry about tomorrow.
Matthew 7
May we not look at the speck in our brothers’ eyes, without considering the planks in our own eyes. May we focus on removing the planks from our own eyes, and then we will see clearly to remove the speck from our brothers’ eyes.
May we not give what is holy to the dogs, or cast our pearls before swine.
May we ask, seek, and knock. We thank You that You give good things to those who ask You!
May we do to others as we want them to do to us.
Keep us on the narrow road and away from the broad way that leads to destruction. Let us be among the few who find it.
Keep us aware of false prophets, who come to us in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Teach us to know them by their fruits.
May we do the will of our Father in heaven.
May You help us to keep from practicing lawlessness.
Help us to hear Your sayings and to do them with wisdom.
