Give Us Wisdom

Receive Holy Spirit Guidance

  • Let Your Holy Spirit help us to pray because Your Word says that we do not know how to pray as we ought but that the Holy Spirit helps in our weaknesses and makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26)

  • Let the Holy Spirit make intercession through and for us according to the will of God (Romans 8:27)

  • Let the Holy Spirit guide us into all the truth and declare to us the things that are to come (John 16:13)

  • Let the Holy Spirit baptize us fully as with the apostles, let tongues of Holy Spirit fire rest upon each of us and let us receive Your Holy Spirit power so that we are led by the Holy Spirit in everything pertaining to this life (Acts 1:5-8 & Acts 2:1-4)


Prayer for Wisdom

  • Fill us with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship (Exodus 31:3 || Exodus 35:31)


  • Lord, disclose to us the secrets of wisdom (Job 11:6)

  • You who understands the way of wisdom and You know its place (Job 28:23), You who saw wisdom and declared it, You who prepared it, indeed, You who searched it out, to us You have said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that, is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding.’ (Job 28:27-28)

    • Help us to fear You and to depart from evil

  • Let Your breath Lord Almighty give us understanding (Job 32:8)

  • Help us to perceive when You speak in one way and in another, in a dream, in a vision in the night, when deep sleep falls upon us as we slumber on our beds (Job 33:14-15)

  • Open our ears and terrify us with warnings to turn us from wrongdoing and keep us from pride, to preserve our souls from the Pit (Job 33:15-18)

  • Let there be a messenger for us, a mediator, one among a thousand, to show us uprightness (Job 33:23)


  • Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom (Psalms 90:12)

  • Help us to be wise - to listen to Your Word and to gain instruction from it (Proverbs 1:5)

  • Give us the wisdom that comes from Your mouth, the knowledge and understanding that comes from Your mouth (Proverbs 2:6)

  • Help us to lean not on our own understanding, may we not be wise in our own eyes, but may we fear You, and turn away from evil (Proverbs 3:5&7)

  • Let us have the wisdom that will reward us (Proverbs 9:12)

  • Let us walk with the wise and become wise, let us not be companions of fools and suffer harm (Proverbs 13:20)

  • Help us to listen to advice and accept instruction, that we may gain wisdom in the future (Proverbs 19:10)

  • Teach us to please You that You may give us wisdom and knowledge and joy (Ecclesiastes 2:26)


  • Lord Jesus, help us to hear Your words and do them so we will be like wise men who built our houses on the rock (Matthew 7:24)

  • Give us a mouth and wisdom, which none of our adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict (Luke 21:15)

  • Help us to know the truth so that the truth will set us free (John 8:32)

  • Father reveal to us the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of You! Reveal to us Your unsearchable judgments and inscrutable ways (Romans 11:33)

  • Help us to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil (Romans 16:19)

  • May You, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know You better (Ephesians 1:17)

  • Help us to look carefully then how we walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Help us not to be foolish, but to understand what Your Will is (Ephesians 5:15-17)

  • May we be wise in the way we act toward outsiders and make the most of every opportunity (Colossians 4:5)

  • May we know the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make us wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:15)

  • Where we lack wisdom, we ask You, God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to us (James 1:5)

  • Give us the wisdom that is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere (James 3:17). Let us show our wisdom by our good conduct, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom (James 3:15)
