Isaiah 48

You are He. You are the first and You are the last. Your own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and Your right hand spread out the heavens. When You summon them, they all stand up together. Come together, all of you, and listen: which of the idols has foretold things?

From the first announcement You have not spoken in secret, at the time it happens, You are there. You are the LORD our God, who teaches us what is best for us, who directs us in the way we should go. If only we had paid attention to Your commands, our peace would have been like a river, our well-being like the waves of the sea. Our descendants would have been like the sand, our children like its numberless grains. Our names would never be blotted out nor destroyed from before You.

Isaiah 49

Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! Break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people, and will have mercy on His afflicted.

Isaiah 51

For You, oh Lord will comfort Zion, You will comfort all her waste places. You will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like Your garden. Joy and gladness will be found in it, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody. For law will proceed from You, and You will make Your justice rest as a light of the peoples. Your righteousness is near, Your salvation has gone forth, and Your arms will judge the peoples. The coastlands will wait upon You, and on Your arm they will trust.

We lift up our eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath. For the heavens will vanish away like smoke, the earth will grow old like a garment, and those who dwell in it will die in like manner. But Your salvation will be forever, and Your righteousness will not be abolished. We will not fear the reproach of men, nor be afraid of their insults. For the moth will eat them up like a garment, and the worm will eat them like wool. But Your righteousness will be forever, and Your salvation from generation to generation.

Are You not the arm that cut Rahab apart, and wounded the serpent? Are You not the One who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, that made the depths of the sea a road for the redeemed to cross over? So Your ransomed, oh Lord shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness. Sorrow and sighing shall flee away. You, even You, are He who comforts us. We are not afraid of men who will die, and of the sons of men who will be made like grass. You, oh Lord our Maker, stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth.

You, oh Lord our God, divided the sea whose waves roared—The LORD of hosts is Your Name. You have put Your words in our mouths. You have covered us with the shadow of Your hand, that You may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth.

Isaiah 55

For Your thoughts are not our thoughts, nor are our ways Your ways. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are Your ways higher than our ways, and Your thoughts than our thoughts. For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall Your word be that goes forth from Your mouth. It shall not return to You void, but it shall accomplish what You please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which You sent it.

Isaiah 57

You are the High and Lofty One, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy. You dwell in the high and holy place. With those who have contrite and humble spirits, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the hearts of the contrite ones.

Isaiah 61

We will greatly rejoice in the Lord. Our souls shall be joyful in our God. For He has clothed us with the garments of salvation. He has covered us with the robe of righteousness.
