Isaiah 40

All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, because Your breath oh LORD blows upon it. The grass withers, the flower fades, but Your word oh God stands forever

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, measured heaven with a span and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? Who has directed Your Spirit oh LORD, or as Your counselor has taught You? With whom did You take counsel, and who instructed You, and taught You in the path of justice? Who taught You knowledge, and showed You the way of understanding?

Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket, and are counted as the small dust on the scales. Look, You lift the isles as a very little thing, and Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its beasts sufficient for a burnt offering. All nations before You are as nothing, and they are counted by You less than nothing and worthless.

To whom then will we liken You? Or what likeness will we compare to You?

Have we not known? Have we not heard? Has it not been told us from the beginning? Have we not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is You who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

You bring the princes to nothing. You make the judges of the earth useless. Scarcely shall they be planted, scarcely shall they be sown, scarcely shall their stock take root in the earth, when You will also blow on them, and they will wither, and the whirlwind will take them away like stubble.

To whom then will we liken You, or to whom shall You be equal?

You created these things, who brings out their host by number. You call them all by name, by the greatness of Your might and the strength of Your power. Not one is missing.

Have we not known? Have we not heard? You, everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faint nor are weary. Your understanding is unsearchable. You give power to the weak, and to those who have no might You increase strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on You shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 41

You, the LORD, are the first, and with the last You are He.  We, Israel, are Your servants, Jacob whom You have chosen, the descendants of Abraham Your friend.

We whom You have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest regions, and said to us, that we are Your servants, You have chosen us and have not cast us away.

The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, their tongues fail for thirst. You, the LORD, will hear them. You, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. You will open rivers in desolate heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys. You will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. You will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree, the myrtle and the oil tree. You will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine and the box tree together, that they may see and know, and consider and understand together, that Your hand oh LORD has done this, and You, the Holy One of Israel, have created it.

Isaiah 42

You who created the heavens, and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and its offspring, who gives breath to the people on it, and life to those who walk in it. You are the LORD, that is Your Name! You will not yield Your glory to another, or Your praise to idols.

Behold, the former things have happened, and now You declare new things, before they spring forth, You proclaim them to us.

Isaiah 43

You have redeemed us. You have called us by Your name. We are Yours. When we pass through the waters, You will be with us, and through the rivers, they shall not overflow us. When we walk through the fire, we shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch us.

For You are the LORD our God, The Holy One of Israel, our Savior. You gave Egypt for our ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in our place. Since we were precious in Your sight, we have been honored, and You have loved us.

You are with us. You will bring our descendants from the east, and gather us from the west. You will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’

We are Your witnesses and Your servants whom You have chosen, that we may know and believe You, and understand that You are He. Before You there was no God formed, nor shall there be after You. You, even You, are the LORD, and besides You there is no savior. You have declared and saved. Therefore, we are Your witnesses that You are God. Indeed before the day was, You were He, and there is no one who can deliver out of Your hand. You work, and who will reverse it

You are the LORD, our Holy One, The Creator of Israel, our King.

Who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters, who brings forth the chariot and horse?

Behold, You will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth. Shall we not know it? You will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. The beast of the field will honor You, the jackals and the ostriches, because You give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to Your people, Your chosen. This people You have formed for Yourself.

We shall declare Your praise.

Receive Holy Spirit Guidance

  • Let Your Holy Spirit help us to pray because Your Word says that we do not know how to pray as we ought but that the Holy Spirit helps in our weaknesses and makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26)

  • Let the Holy Spirit make intercession through and for us according to the will of God (Romans 8:27)

  • Let the Holy Spirit guide us into all the truth and declare to us the things that are to come (John 16:13)

  • Let the Holy Spirit baptize us fully as with the apostles, let tongues of Holy Spirit fire rest upon each of us and let us receive Your Holy Spirit power so that we are led by the Holy Spirit in everything pertaining to this life (Acts 1:5-8 & Acts 2:1-4)
