Prayers from Jeremiah

Jeremiah 1

• Put Your words in our mouths. Set us over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.

• Help us to prepare ourselves and arise, and speak to them all that You command us. Let us not be dismayed before their faces.

• Make us fortified cities, iron pillars, and bronze walls against the whole land—against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.

• Let all who fight against us, not prevail against us. Be with us to deliver us.

Jeremiah 15

• Help us to return so that You will restore us, and so we will stand in Your presence.

• Help us to speak words that are noble instead of worthless, so that we can be Your spokesmen.

• Help us to turn to you, be with us to save us and deliver us from the hand of the wicked and redeem us from the grasp of the ruthless.

Jeremiah 17

• Help us not to trust in mankind or to make mere flesh our strength - may we not turn our hearts from You.

• Help us to trust in You and put our confidence in You.

• Help us to be like trees planted by the water that send out its roots towards the stream.

• May we not fear when the heat comes and may our leaves always be green.

• May we not worry in the year of drought or cease to produce fruit.

• May our hearts not be deceitful, and may our deeds receive a great reward from You

• Help us not to abandon You or turn away.

• Heal us, O LORD, and we will be healed, save us, and we will be saved, for You are our praise.

• Be our refuge in the day of disaster - do not let us be put to shame and let us not be terrified.

Jeremiah 18

• Cause us to hear Your words. As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so let us be in Your hand.

• Help us to return from all our evil ways, and to make our ways and our doings good.

• Help us not to forget You or to stumble in our ways.

• Give heed to us, oh Lord, and listen to the voices of those who contend with us.

Jeremiah 20

• Let Your word be in our hearts like a burning fire, shut up in our bones, that we will be weary of holding it back.

• Be with us, as a mighty, awesome One. Let our persecutors stumble, and not prevail. Let them be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Let their everlasting confusion never be forgotten.

• Sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord! For He has delivered the life of the poor from the hand of evildoers.
